“Vienna for me is the origin of classical music,” says Yuja Wang, who joins a group of international stars such as Billy Joel, Hans Zimmer, and Joshua Bell, who all rave about Vienna, the world capital of music. They are Viennese by choice, just like Beethoven, who once came to Vienna to stay and would have celebrated his 250th birthday in 2020.
Ms. Wang highlights some of her best memories in Vienna: the first time she played at the Musikverein, where she will return for two concerts in 2020, and her performance at the Vienna Philharmonic’s Summer Night Concert at Schönbrunn this past summer.
