Concerts at the Tsinandali Festival

On September 18, 19 & 22, Yuja Wang performs at the first-ever Tsinandali Festival in Georgia. For the first concert, Yuja is joined by clarinetist Martin Fröst for a chamber concert with works including von Weber’s virtuosic Grand Duo Concertante, Brahms’ richly-textured Clarinet Sonata in E-flat Major and his Hungarian Dances Nos. 1, 13, and 21.

On September 19, Ms. Wang is a featured soloist along with Martin Fröst and trumpeter Chris Scanlon, with the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra. Under the baton of Giovanni Guzzo, the program will include Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A Major, Shostakovich’s delightful Piano Concerto No. 1, and Beethoven’s First Symphony.

Marking the final performance of the festival, Yuja joins the Pan-Caucasian Youth Orchestra, led by Lahav Shani. Mr. Shani joins Ms. Wang in Rachmaninov’s fantastic Suite No. 2 for Two Pianos, also on the program is Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2, and concluding the evening is Brahms’ bright Symphony No. 2.
