Magnus Lindberg’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with Orchestre de Paris

On April 13 and 14, Yuja Wang joins the Orchestre de Paris for the French premiere of Magnus Lindberg’s Piano Concerto No. 3 under the baton of Klaus Mäkelä, the Orchestra’s Music Director. Critics have been blown away by Yuja’s first performances of Lindberg’s newest concerto, with the Financial Times writing, “Lindberg[‘s]… third piano concerto was tailored for Yuja Wang’s dazzling virtuosity; on Thursday she played this formidable score from memory and sounded commanding throughout, from thunderous assertion to caressing lyricism.”

In addition to this remarkable modern composition, the audience will also be treated to Sibelius’s ethereal Valse Triste and Tchaikovsky’s beloved Symphony No. 6 “Pathétique”. This symphony is known for its intense emotional power and has inspired countless interpretations since the composer’s mysterious death just days after its premiere.

The performance on April 13 will be live-streamed on medici.tv at 8:00 pm CET.
