Shostakovich with the Boston Symphony Orchestra

On September 29, 30 and October 1, Yuja Wang will return to Boston to play Dimitri Shostakovich’s Piano Concertos No. 1 and 2 with Andris Nelsons and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Wang’s performances of these two works (alongside trumpet player Thomas Rolfs in the composer’s first concerto) are part of the BSO’s multi-season exploration of Shostakovich’s major works. Also included on the program is Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 100 “Military” as well as Julia Adolphe’s Makeshift Castle which was premiered by the BSO at Tanglewood this past July.
