Carnegie Hall is offering a free live stream of their Opening Night Gala with Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducting the Philadelphia Orchestra on October 6.
The program starts with Valerie Coleman’s Seven O’Clock Shout, honoring frontline workers and the resilience of the human spirit. The orchestra’s complete Beethoven cycle begins with the iconic Symphony No. 5, and Yuja Wang joins for Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2. Rounding out an unforgettable concert are Iman Habibi’s Jeder Baum spricht, a powerful work inspired by Beethoven’s love of nature, and Bernstein’s ever-popular Overture to Candide.
