On February 8, 9, and 10, Yuja Wanhs joins the Czech Philharmonic for Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor, Op. 30, under the baton of esteemed conductor, Sir Simon Rattle. Composed in 1909, this three-movement concerto is considered one of Rachmaninoff’s most challenging and iconic works for piano. Known for its demanding virtuosity, intricate passages, and emotional depth, the concerto stands as a pinnacle of the late Romantic era and a cornerstone of Yuja’s career.
The program also features Bruckner’s Symphony No. 6 in A major, a majestic work filled with rich harmonic textures.
