Following her concert in Kotor with percussionist Martin Grubinger, Yuja Wang will travel to Austria for concerts at the Salzburg Festival and Lucerne Festival in Switzerland.
Ms. Wang will reunite with Martin Grubinger and his Percussive Planet Ensemble for another concert on August 11 at the Salzburg Festival. The program will include works by Igor Stravinsky, Béla Bartók and György Ligeti.
Her final performance at the Salzburg Festival will take place August 27 in a sparkling concert with the Berlin Philharmonic. Kirill Petrenko, the incoming chief conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic beginning summer of 2019, will take the podium. The program will include Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3, Dukas’ La Péri and Schmidt’s Symphony No. 4.
Following, Yuja and Maestro Petrenko with the Berlin Philharmonic will perform at the Lucerne Festival in Switzerland on August 30. This performance marks the 60th anniversary since the Berlin Philharmonic debuted at the festival. Yuja and the ensemble will perform the same program from the concert on August 27.
