This month, Yuja Wang embarks on an exciting tour with her longtime collaborator, violinist Leonidas Kavakos, beginning on November 1 and making stops in Georgia, New York, Michigan, Illinois, Nebraska, and California.
The outstanding artists will illuminate a program of classical treasures, including two of Bach’s beloved sonatas, Busoni’s adventurous Sonata No. 2 and Shostakovich’s grand and muscular Sonata in G major. Check out their critically acclaimed recording of the Brahms violin sonatas via Yuja’s Listen page.
Wang and Kavakos’ collaborations have been heralded previously by critics, with their performance in 2019 at Royal Festival Hall receiving a five-star rating and praise from Bachtrack, saying: “Two generous encores almost managed to outshine the main programme. The Intermezzo from Brahms Violin Sonata no. 3 in D minor Op.108 was deliciously presented and The Fountain of Arethusa, the first of the Szymanowski’s Myths, was shamelessly sensuous and refined. The empathetic truthfulness of all their performances on this special occasion was extraordinary.
