Yuja Wang is featured on a new Deutsche Grammophon release titled “Ravel – Complete Orchestral Works.” This 4-CD set, available for purchase via Amazon and iTunes, highlights the composer’s works written for orchestra and soloists. The track listing includes performances by Ms. Wang of Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major as well as the Concerto for the Left Hand. Additional audio streaming options are available from Deutsche Grammophon online.
Lionel Bringuier leads the Tonhalle-Orchester Zurich on this album, which also features violinist Ray Chen. Lionel and Yuja’s first collaborations took place during the Tonhalle Orchestra’s 2014/15 season when Ms. Wang was the Artist-in-Residence. In addition to several concert performances they also worked together on another recording for Deutsche Grammophon titled “Ravel,” which features both of the composer’s concerti for Piano (Amazon). The duo can be seen in concert this summer with the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia – June 4, 6 & 7; the National Symphony Orchestra at Wolf Trap – July 8; and with the Camerata Salzburg at the Salzburg Festival – August 12, with all programmes featuring the Ravel Concerto in G.
