Yuja Wang embarks on her second tour this year and will be performing throughout North America. Her recital tour begins May 11 in Boston (NEC’s Jordan Hall) and continues on May 13 in Toronto (Koerner Hall), May 15 in Montréal (Maison symphonique de Montréal), and concludes on May 17 in New York City at Carnegie Hall. Yuja is revered for captivating audiences with her impeccable technique and vivid artistry, notably in recital performances.
“Scriabin himself described the trilling as that of “insects,” but in Wang’s hands they became brilliant, even heroic beasts whose ecstasy threatens to engulf. One wanted to hear it immediately after it ended to trace the contrasts again, to grasp more confidently the structure that Wang disclosed. Scriabin, who can be a little diffuse and mystical, held no unsolvable mysteries for Yuja Wang.” (The Boston Musical Intelligencer)
