Yuja Wang is the featured soloist at some of the world’s most acclaimed summer festivals this season, beginning with several concerts in the United States. Ms. Wang plays Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue in performance with the National Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of conductor and frequent collaborator Lionel Bringuier. The event takes place at the Wolf Trap festival’s Filene Center on July 8, with a programme that also includes the Mussorgsky/Ravel Pictures at an Exhibition.
She then travels to the Tanglewood Festival for a performance with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Gustavo Gimeno on July 17, featuring the Ravel and Gershwin, in addition to Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 1 (Classical) and Stravinsky’s Suite from The Firebird. Please note seat availability is extremely limited for this concert.
On July 21 she brings Ravel and Gershwin to life with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and its Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel, on stage at the famed Hollywood Bowl. The LA Phil also presents Ravel’s Bolero and Gershwin’s Symphonic Suite from Porgy and Bess on this concert, with several seating areas now sold out and limited single tickets available throughout the venue.
