American tour with Russian National Symphony Orchestra


Pianist Yuja Wang appears with the Russian National Symphony Orchestra throughout February 2016 as the featured soloist in Tchaikovsky’s rarely-heard Second Piano Concerto and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 9, “Jeunehomme” under the musical direction of Mikhail Pletnev.

The eight-city, nine-concert tour kicks off on 19 February in Northridge, CA at the Northridge Valley Performing Arts Center. Yuja and the orchestra then travel to Davis, CA on 20 February for a concert at U.C. Davis’s Mondavi Center and to San Francisco, CA for two nights of performances at Davies Symphony Hall on 21 and 22 February. They appear in Palm Desert, CA at the McCallum Theater on 23 February. On 24 February, Yuja and the orchestra take the stage at Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa, CA.

The tour continues in the central United States on 26 February in Manhattan, KS at Kansas State University; 27 February in Lincoln, NE at the Lied Center for the Performing Arts; and 28 February in Kansas City, MO at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
