On February 3, Yuja Wang’s year-long Artist in Residency at the Philharmonie Luxembourg continues with a concert where she is joined by musical humorists Iguesman and Joo. The music comedy duo and composers are known to bring humor to world renowned orchestras like the New York Philharmonic and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Next month they will collaborate with Ms. Wang in part of her Perspectives Series at Carnegie Hall.
In her first concert as Artist in Residence, Yuja presented a program with Martin Grubinger’s Percussive Planet Ensemble, playing rousing transcriptions of two key works of the 20th century. For her upcoming concert, she joins forces with Igudesman & Joo for an evening full of surprises. Described by the Philharmonie Luxemboug as: “No doubt this promises a perfect blend of Wang’s spontaneity and virtuosity on the one hand and the enchanting musical wit of the two comedians on the other.” More information about Yuja’s Residency is available via the Philharmonie Luxembourg website.
