Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Cleveland Orchestra

Yuja Wang joins the Cleveland Orchestra on November 29, 30 & December 1 at Severance Hall, to perform Rachmaninoff’s virtuosic Piano Concerto No. 4. Originally written in the 1920s but revised several times, Rachmaninoff was influenced by American jazz of the era, including Gershwin’s jazzy Rhapsody in Blue. Swiss conductor Lorenzo Viotti leads the orchestra, which will also play Prokofiev’s Suite from The Love for Three Oranges, Francis Poulenc’s Sinfonietta, and Maurice Ravel’s La Valse.
