Performances with the Concertgebouw Orchestra

This September, Yuja Wang joins Klaus Mäkelä and the Concertgebouw Orchestra for performances in Amsterdam, Bucharest, and Dortmund. The concerts will feature works by Debussy as well as both piano concertos by Maurice Ravel: Piano Concerto for the Left Hand in D major, and Piano Concerto in G major.

She recorded the two works in her 2015 album, Ravel, which received widespread acclaim and prompted Gramophone Magazine to write:

“A good project on paper does not always translate to a successful recording. In this case, however, it does – with knobs on. Five years ago, when I wrote a Collection piece for these pages on Ravel’s G major Concerto, I put Jean Casadesus at the top, closely followed by Anne Queffélec, Michelangeli and Argerich. I’m not sure I wouldn’t have awarded the palme d’or to this recording.”

See below for the dates and locations of the concerts:

September 20 and 21 – Het Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, Netherlands

September 23 – Grand Palace Hall, Enescu Festival, Bucharest, Romania

September 26 – Konzerthaus Dortmund, Dortmund, Germany
