Yuja x Hockney at London’s Lightroom

On September 28, 29 & 30, Yuja Wang will take to the stage at London’s Lightroom for six intimate concerts, performing a repertoire of pieces inspired by her response to David Hockney’s artworks, part of the venue’s David Hockney: Bigger & Closer exhibition. Ms. Wang will play a responsive and dynamic repertoire of pieces inspired directly by one of Britain’s greatest living artists and a truly remarkable space.

This concert series will afford audiences a unique opportunity to experience Yuja performing in Lightroom’s awe-inspiring showspace, where David Hockney’s artworks will help provide an extraordinary and atmospheric backdrop to Yuja and her piano. Live cameras on Lightroom’s walls will provide a unique perspective on her virtuosic performance.

“As soon as I heard about Lightroom, I was immediately drawn to the possibility of fusing visuals with live music and creating immersive experiences.  I’m particularly delighted to be working on this project with projections by the great David Hockney, who I’ve been a fan of for many years and the audience will experience his art alongside piano performance like never before – it’s exciting and definitely not to be missed!” – Yuja Wang
